I've heard this as an explanation as to why many people, including myself, do not like music. The idea is that we can live without music, but we can't live without dessert. Therefore, we should forgo the music and enjoy the dessert instead. My response to this is that I disagree and I don't think it's a good enough reason to reject one of life's greatest pleasures.
